Trustee Change

February 13, 2025

Dear Parents/Guardians,

For some time now, our trustees the Religious Sisters of Charity have been looking at the future of their five Secondary Schools with a view to transferring their Trusteeship. This is to ensure that our schools will continue to be maintained and operated to the highest educational standard.

Having looked at various options, I am happy to inform you that they are now in the process of transferring the Trusteeship of the schools to the Le Cheile Schools Trust. They have met with the Boards of Management and staffs of the five schools and their response has been very positive and encouraging.

Le Cheile is an Irish word meaning “together”. It is a Catholic Schools’ Trust that supports schools in upholding their values, ethos and mission, while also providing leadership and governance support. Joining Le Cheile will strengthen your School’s ability to provide a highquality education rooted in inclusivity, respect and care for each student. To date 16 Religious Congregations have transferred their schools to the Le Cheile Trust. There are 66 Post Primary Schools and 13 Primary Schools in the Trust.

This transition will not change the day-to-day experience of our students, staff, Board of Management, or you as parents. The governance structures already in place – Boards of Management and Senior Management – will not change. Each School in the Trust maintains its own identity. Our School will remain a Religious Sister of Charity School rooted in the spirit and vision of Mary Aikenhead. Our School’s commitment to academic excellence, pastoral care and social justice will remain at the heart of our School Community. However, joining Le Cheile will provide our School with additional support and resources to enhance the opportunities available to our students.

We are confident that this change will be positive for our students, staff and the wider school community.

Thank you for your continued support as we move forward on this journey together.

Kind regards,

Mr. J. O’Brien
