American Ambassadors Visit
As part of the TY programme students have been involved in a project called Cooperation Ireland. Two schools are twinned, one from the Republic and one from the North. The students look at issues in their community and choose the issue that is most important to them. Both groups meet up, once in Dublin and once up North, to discuss these issues.
The United States funds some of the project. Dan Rooney, the United States Ambassador to Ireland visited the school to find out more about the project. The issues being addressed were the young and the Gardaí, Racism and parents and drug dealers. He was very impressed with the students.
