Head Girls

Head Girl and Deputy Head Girl

Every year the teachers and the students in 6th year vote to elect a Head Girl and a Deputy Head Girl.

This is a great honour for the students as it is an acknowledgement of the esteem in which they are held by the school community. It is awarded to the students whom we feel show maturity, strength of character, trustworthiness, courtesy and leadership qualities.

These students can be relied upon to bring commitment and energy to the tasks entrusted to them.

As Head Girl and Deputy Head Girl they represent the school at many functions and address guests and parents. They chair Student Council meetings and generally act in a leadership capacity in the school, taking particular care to monitor first year students.

Head Girl - Anne Marie Dowling

Deputy Head Girl - Nicole Noonan

Sports Captain and Games Captain

Every year a Sports Captain and Games Captain are chosen. Along with Head Girl this is a very prestigious position. The students chosen are those who have shown a love of sport during their time in school. Those chosen also have to be reliable, show great attitude, show an ability to be gracious in defeat and an ability to organise and work with the rest of the student population. Coming up to Sports Day is a particularly busy time for both captains.

Throughout the years we have had many outstanding Sports Captains and Games Captains. With their work the PE Department is a much better place.

This year:

Sports Captain: Mary Judge

Games Captain: Nadine Hughes

Class Prefects

The class prefect does her best to create a happy, united and friendly spirit among the girls in her class. She works in co-operation with the teachers at all times and does her best to make sure that their instructions are carried out.

She reports to her Form Teacher anything which she considers is wrong in the class or anything which could be improved. If a teacher has not come to class after five minutes of the appointed time, the prefect should report to the Deputy Principal or to the staff room. The prefect is responsible for collecting the roll book from the office in the morning and afternoons and ensuring that the teacher takes the roll.
